Maria Eugenia Tirello was born in San Salvador, El Salvador, on September 27, 1947. She began her artistic studies under the direction of Salvadorean painter Victor Manuel Rodriquez Preza. Under his tutelage, she learned pencil drawing, charcoal and oil techniques. In 1980, Mrs. Tirello moved to Miami where she continued her study of art, specifically in the area of pastels with Cuban artists Alfonso Rodriquez Pichardo. Later, in 1987, she began her studies in watercolor.
She is listed in the Marquis Who's Who of American Women in the 2002-2003 edition.
Mrs. Tirello is a member of the Miami Watercolor Society, the Gold Coast Watercolor Society, the Florida Watercolor Society, the Florida Professional Artist Guild and Waterworks. She has won several awards since 1987.
