Gallery Artist Aletha Jones

Aletha finds the creative process involved with her abstract paintings to be both intuitive as well as liberating. In these paintings she speaks with a rich visual vocabulary that is profoundly personal. "I have to follow where each painting leads me," she explains. First introduced to art in childhood, Aletha earned a Masters of Fine Arts degree from Bowling Green State University. Her paintings are created using acrylic pigments, at times applied in thin multiple layers, and in other instances, incorporated with modeling paste and heavy gel for thick textural application.
